UTV RENTAL REQUIREMENTS IN GATLINBURG
- Age Requirement: Drivers must be at least 21 years old. Passengers may be any age. Bring an approved car seat if required.
- Valid Driver’s License: Every driver must present a valid physical driver’s license at pickup.
- Insurance: Drivers must provide proof of personal auto insurance. We do not offer additional insurance coverage.
- Credit Card on File: We do not require a security deposit. However, the driver must provide a major credit card that matches the name on the driver’s license. We save it on file until the vehicle returns in its original condition.
- Safety Briefing: Before departure, we provide a safety briefing covering vehicle operation, route guidance, and emergency procedures.
- Responsible Operation: Drivers must operate all vehicles safely and follow all local and state laws at all times.
GATLINBURG UTV ORDINANCES AND REGULATIONS
- No off-road driving in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. All UTVs are street-legal vehicles and must remain on approved roadways. Gravel and dirt roads are permitted where legal.
- All operators must carry a valid driver’s license.
- Speed limits within Gatlinburg city limits are 25 mph, unless otherwise posted.
- UTVs are classified as medium-speed vehicles with a maximum speed of 35 mph.
- All occupants must wear safety belts at all times.
- You violate city noise ordinances if your vehicle or behavior can be heard 50 feet away. This includes excessive exhaust noise, loud music, horns, yelling, or similar disturbances.
- Avoid residential neighborhoods. Most complaints originate in these areas.
- Revving engines, spinning tires, or reckless driving is prohibited.
- Flashing colored lights are not allowed.
- Open alcohol containers and improper passing are prohibited.
Any moving violation of the Gatlinburg ordinances and laws is a fine of $113.75 or more per violation. Operate your UTV carefully so that you and your passengers and other on the roadway have a safe visit to Gatlinburg.
